Terms of Use
By using UK Grid (grid.andelle.uk), you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and plain.
What this site is
UK Grid is a free, public dashboard that aggregates and visualises electricity grid data for Great Britain. The data comes from published feeds operated by Elexon, the National Grid Electricity System Operator (NESO), and the Carbon Intensity API. We are not affiliated with any of those organisations; we just relay and display what they publish.
No warranty on the data
The data is provided "as is." It may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Upstream feeds publish on their own schedule (typically every 5 to 30 minutes) and occasionally fail. Do not use this site for trading decisions, safety-critical decisions, regulatory reporting, or anything else where the accuracy or timeliness of the number matters in a measurable way. We make no representation that the data is fit for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Andelle Labs is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or the data shown on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, educational, journalistic, and research purposes. You may not:
- Scrape the site at high volume to bypass our App Check or the rate limits of the underlying APIs (the upstream APIs are public — use them directly)
- Misrepresent the data as your own original work without attribution
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the underlying Firestore database, Cloud Functions, or any other backend
- Use the site or its data in any way that violates the Carbon Intensity API terms or any other applicable upstream licence
Open source
The code that powers this site is published under the MIT licence on GitHub. You're free to fork it, learn from it, or run your own copy.
Data attribution
Source data is courtesy of and remains the property of the upstream providers. See the Data Sources page for full attribution and licence details.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted in the project changelog. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
